Travel Information for Word Cup 7 in Springfield, Massachusetts
- Hartford/Springfield Bradley Airport (BDL) is the nearest airport. It is 15-20 miles away, just over the Connecticut border. BDL is serviced by many airlines, including: American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United.
- Those who like to compare airfares to other nearby airports may consider: Boston, MA (95 mi); Albany, NY (85 mi); Providence, RI (85 mi); or Manchester, NH (120 mi).
The Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel is located in downtown Springfield, surrounded by numerous shops and restaurants. Many tournament attendees will find it unnecessary to have a car for the duration of the tournament. Those that enjoy the flexibility afforded by having a car should be aware that hotel parking is $17 per night. Day parking for people not staying in the hotel is $7.
Other options for parking nearby include:
- Free parking is available at the Basketball Hall of Fame, one mile from the hotel.
- Most of the street parking in downtown Springfield is metered; unmetered street parking is available in other parts of the city.
Ground Transportation from BDL airport:
Tournament organizers are in the process of securing shuttle vans to make regularly scheduled trips between the Bradley Airport (BDL) and the tournament hotels on Friday, July 28, and from the hotel to the airport on Wednesday, August 2. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

For those who live more than 40 miles from venue, there will be a $50 commuter fee if you do not stay at the host hotel. Youth players are exempt from the commuter fee. Tournament Organizers are in the process of determining other day-parking options near the tournament venues for commuters.
