The results for the Phoenix One Day are now available at Phoenix One-Day
We had 12 players attend our March 19th One Day potluck. The array of food was impressive!
Because of the unusually small group, we split into two divisions of six players and played a five game round robin, KOTH, KOTH with no repeats, and KOTH. Duplicate prizes were awarded to both divisions; 1st $70; 2nd $50, and BPBH $40. We also had two fun prizes in the morning and afternoon sessions, with each winner receiving $10. The balance of the entry fees ($60) were shared by the Brookdale Christown Center and the Word Cup 2016 prize fund.
Fun prize winners” Begins with “M” for March: Satya- “myriads” (82) and Zach- “mineral” (84. Ends with “H” as in March: Gary- “ranch” (44), and Susan- “blah” (44).
We had a first time tournament player from Surprise, Sharon O’Connor, who one 2 games and won the BestPerformanceBottomHalf award. We hope to see Sharon at club occasionally and at our future tournaments.
The next One Day tournament in AZ will be directed by Laurie Cohen on Sunday, May 15 at the Minder Binder restaurant. Information is available at Tempe in May.
