It was unseasonably cool for March 25, but we warmed up with a six-game tournament. Scott Smith hosted, Mitch Bayersdorfer directed.
As if directing were not enough, Mitch made a flashy finish to his sixth game. Leading by 3 points and with a blank unseen, I thought I had a good shot at a win by making a 42-point play and blocking a bingo line, but I didn’t do a proper job of blocking. With 30 seconds left on his clock, Mitch played CAPSIZE for 128 points (C was the blank, Z on triple letter, word was doubled). Final score 508-409.
